About ROBOTIS THORMANG3
ROBOTIS THORMANG3 is a full-size humanoid for research and education. Official specifications list a height of 137.5 cm, a weight of 42 kg and 29 actuated body degrees of freedom, plus a 1-DoF gripper on each hand. Its Dynamixel PRO actuators were renewed with DYNAMIXEL-P models from June 2019.
The onboard computing uses two Intel NUC i5 computers with 8 GB of RAM each. Sensors include a Logitech C920 camera, two ATI Mini58 force/torque sensors and a MicroStrain IMU, with optional Intel RealSense and Hokuyo UTM-30LX-EW sensors. The software runs on Ubuntu with ROS, and ROBOTIS publishes the platform packages. Two battery packs, rated at 22.2 V/22 Ah and 18.5 V/11 Ah, supply the actuators and computers; ROBOTIS Japan reports about one hour of operation depending on conditions.
The current global product page requests a quotation, and the current Korean store describes the robot as made to order with an estimated 12-week delivery. ROBOTIS Japan says manufacture and local sales there ended in September 2020. That regional notice does not establish a worldwide discontinuation, so this entry remains commercial.
