National University of Defense Technology
The National University of Defense Technology (NUDT) is a public research university in Changsha, Hunan, affiliated with the Central Military Commission. Its predecessor, the People's Liberation Army Military Academy of Engineering, was founded in 1953, and the institution took the NUDT name in Changsha in 1978. NUDT's history says its team developed the human-shaped Xianxingzhe robot in 1999 and that it was selected among China's top ten science and technology advances of 2000.
