Product overview
ASC ARJUN is a humanoid security robot that Indian Railways deployed at Visakhapatnam railway station in Andhra Pradesh on 23 January 2026. The Ministry of Railways describes it as a support tool for Railway Protection Force (RPF) staff during busy periods.
The official announcement says the robot has face recognition for intrusion detection and AI-based crowd monitoring, with alerts sent to RPF control rooms. It can make automated announcements in English, Hindi and Telugu and greet passengers with a 'Namaste' gesture. Semi-autonomous navigation with obstacle avoidance supports platform patrols, and fire and smoke detection provide emergency alerts.
The robot was designed and developed in Visakhapatnam using indigenous technology and is named after Arjuna from the Mahabharata. The official release and launch coverage do not give its height, weight, degrees of freedom, speed or battery, and no sale or price has been announced.
