Product overview
The GR-1 is a bipedal humanoid from Shanghai-based Fourier, first shown at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in July 2023 as a general-purpose platform (s4). Fourier's launch release describes self-balancing, obstacle avoidance, walking up and down slopes and correcting its path after outside pushes, and says the design is modular and scalable for industry-specific needs (s4).
Fourier's documentation lists up to 44 degrees of freedom across the body, six-DoF bionic hands, a 483 Wh battery with about one hour of endurance, and dual depth cameras in the head (s1). The release names healthcare and rehabilitation, manufacturing, research, entertainment, hospitality and customer service as areas of use (s4), and The Robot Report says Fourier expected to sell the GR-1 for applications such as research and education (s2).
When the production version launched in late 2023, Fourier had not announced a price for it (s2). A March 2025 Pudong government release says the GR-1 and GR-2 had entered mass production (s3). No official order or sales page for the GR-1 was found (s1).
Capabilities
Self-balancing with obstacle avoidance; it can walk up and down slopes and correct its path after being pushed. [4]
Fourier documents six degrees of freedom per hand and about 3 kg of payload per hand; whole-body payload is not stated. [1]
Current documentation lists 483 Wh at 40 V nominal, about one hour of endurance and a 315-minute charge time. [1]
Two RealSense depth cameras in the head and an IMU provide perception, according to Fourier's documentation. [1]
Fourier describes the GR-1 as modular and scalable, and customizable for industry-specific needs. [4]

Evaluation footprint
Language-conditioned dexterous tabletop manipulation by a humanoid with two dexterous hands, measured as average task success rate over trials.
Listed benchmark embodiment ยท Fourier GR-1 humanoid with Fourier dexterous hands, per the GR00T N1 paper. The roster entry fourier-gr-1 is marked 'verify', so the model variant should be confirmed. The simulator is not named in the sections read.
