Product overview

About ROBOTIS OP3

The ROBOTIS OP3 is a miniature humanoid introduced in 2017 for research and education. It is about 510 mm tall, weighs 3.5 kg without its skin cover and has 20 actuated degrees of freedom. The current e-manual describes XM430-W350 Dynamixel X-series actuators, an Intel Core i3 NUC computer with 8 GB of RAM and a 250 GB M.2 SSD, and an OpenCR sub-controller.

The sensors include a Logitech C920 HD Pro camera and a 3-axis gyroscope, accelerometer and magnetometer. ROBOTIS documents a 2025 re-release built for ROS 2, with C++ and the DYNAMIXEL SDK as development tools. Its 11.1 V, 3,300 mAh Li-Po battery can be replaced without shutting the robot down. The page does not give a walking speed or runtime.

ROBOTIS America's store lists the OP3 at a regular price of US$13,764.35, but the item was marked sold out when checked. The store ships only within North, Central and South America. The older specification documented through 2023 used a 1,800 mAh battery and ROS 1.
