Product overview
The Fourier N1, also called Nexus1 in Fourier's documentation, is a general-purpose bipedal humanoid from Fourier. Fourier released it on 11 April 2025 as an open-source platform. The official documentation describes a 1.3 m robot that weighs 38 kg in the introduction, while its parameter table gives a net weight of about 39 kg.
The robot has 23 degrees of freedom: five per arm, six per leg and one at the waist. The head has no DoF but can take add-on vision hardware, and the documentation lists a binocular depth camera as optional. Compute is an Intel Core i7-13700H with 16 GB of RAM, running Ubuntu 22.04. The 475 Wh battery is rated at about two hours of operation, with about 3.5 hours to charge.
Fourier says its maximum stable running speed is 3.5 m/s. The parameter table lists a running speed of 10.8 km/h and a walking speed of 2.7 km/h. The documentation gives a 144 NĀ·m maximum joint peak torque, while launch coverage cites 96 NĀ·m and describes a rear-insert removable battery.
Fourier published the N1's bill of materials, structural blueprints, assembly guidance, core control systems and base software. The manufacturer does not publish a retail price or official checkout page. A third-party reseller currently lists an assembled N1 for US$40,000 but marks it backordered, so the record uses preorder rather than commercial status.
