Product overview
AEON is an industrial humanoid from Hexagon Robotics, a Zurich-based subsidiary and division of Sweden's Hexagon AB. Hexagon launched it on 17 June 2025 at Hexagon LIVE Global in Stockholm.
Hexagon's product page lists AEON at 165 cm tall and 60 kg, with 34 degrees of freedom and a top speed of 2.4 m/s. Each battery charge lasts up to 5 hours, and an autonomous swap takes about one minute. Payload is listed as 8 kg for continuous carrying and 15 kg for short-term handling. The robot uses a wheeled base; Hexagon does not specify the drive technology, so actuation is left unknown.
After a successful Schaeffler pilot, the companies announced in April 2026 that they were preparing deployments and planned at least 1,000 units by 2032. In August 2026 AEON entered Schaeffler's Humanoid Technology Center for training and validation across multiple use cases. These are still staged industrial deployments rather than general product sales, so the status remains pilot. No public price or order page has been published.
โAEON represents a state-of-the-art, industrially bespoke humanoid.โ
Capabilities
Hexagon says AEON does not need to recharge to keep operating, because a battery change takes about one minute with its self-swap mechanism. [2][3]
Hexagon says AEON can move quickly in all directions and climb stairs, and that maxon next-generation actuators power its locomotion. [2][3]
After a successful Schaeffler pilot, Hexagon expanded training and validation in 2026 ahead of planned factory deployments; the partners target at least 1,000 units by 2032. [4][5]
AEON is powered by NVIDIA accelerated computing, Omniverse and Jetson, and uses Microsoft Azure for development and training, per the launch release. [3]
