Product overview
KIT ARMAR-7 is the newest model in the ARMAR family from the H²T group at KIT's Institute for Anthropomatics and Robotics. KIT's family page describes it as a dual-arm assistance robot for human environments such as homes. It has two 8-DoF torque-controlled arms, underactuated hands with four active DoF each, a 3-DoF head and a holonomic mobile platform with three omni-wheels. KIT calls it the successor of its ARMAR-III kitchen robot.
KIT presents ARMAR-7 for households and care facilities. It combines spoken-language interaction with autonomous task execution and learns new tasks from human demonstration through the ArmarX software architecture. The earliest explicit public item found in KIT's H²T news archive shows ARMAR-7 assisting with kitchen tasks at Campusday in June 2024. A June 2024 item about the JuBot project described the robot as intended to support older people in daily activities.
At Hannover Messe in April 2026, KIT demonstrated ARMAR-7 unloading a dishwasher, sorting laundry and organizing kitchen items. KIT has not published height, weight, payload, battery or a price for ARMAR-7, and it lists no sales channel. It remains a research prototype.

KIT says the robot runs its newest ArmarX software architecture and can learn new tasks by watching people, adapting to a user's routines. [2]
KIT lists torque-controlled 8-DoF arms, underactuated hands with four active DoF, a 3-DoF head and a three-omni-wheel platform. [1][3]
KIT describes ARMAR-7 as the successor of its kitchen robot ARMAR-III, which KIT dates to 2006. [1]
