Product overview
Nadine is a social robot with a female humanoid head and upper body, modelled on Professor Nadia Magnenat Thalmann. The project's current site says the hardware was built in Japan in 2013, while its software platform and articulated hands were developed at Nanyang Technological University and later at the University of Geneva. Its 27 degrees of freedom cover facial expression and upper-body movement.
NTU publicised the robot in December 2015 and used Nadine as a receptionist. Later deployments included work with AIA Singapore in 2018β2019 and a trial at Bright Hill Evergreen Home in 2019β2020. The project site also records appearances at public events in 2025 and 2026, confirming that the platform remains active rather than merely historical.
A 2024 research paper describes an updated conversational system built around a SoR-ReAct agent, GPT-4 and retrieval-augmented memory. The robot uses RGB and depth cameras plus microphones for interaction. The sources reviewed do not publish a height, weight, price or general sales channel.
