Product overview
LOLA is a full-size bipedal research humanoid developed by the Applied Mechanics group at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). A peer-reviewed system paper describing the platform was published in 2007, and development has continued through several hardware revisions.
TUM's current project page describes LOLA as an electrically actuated humanoid with 26 distributed joints, a height of 176 cm and a total mass of 68 kg. A 2024 TUM system description identifies this configuration as LOLA v1.1 and gives a more precise height of 1.763 m and mass of 68.2 kg. It reports biped walking at up to 3.38 km/h, equivalent to about 0.94 m/s.
Each foot has a custom six-axis force/torque sensor and four contact switches. The hands carry additional six-axis force/torque sensors, while an accelerometer, ring laser gyroscope and head-mounted vision sensors support state estimation and perception. The platform remains tethered for safety and electrical power and has no onboard battery.
TUM lists LOLA under current projects and continues to publish work using the platform. It is therefore classified as a prototype rather than discontinued. It is a laboratory research system, with no price or sales channel.

Capabilities
TUM uses LOLA to study dynamic biped walking and multi-contact locomotion with hands and feet. [1][4]
The current LOLA v1.1 is an electrically actuated, 26-joint platform measuring 176 cm and 68 kg in TUM's rounded figures. [1][4]
Six-axis force/torque sensors in the feet and hands, foot contact switches, inertial sensors and head vision support locomotion research. [1]
LOLA v1.1 is tethered for electrical power and safety and does not carry an onboard battery. [4]

Quick answers
No general order page is verified. TUM LOLA is currently classified as prototype. [1]
TUM LOLA is 176 cm tall and weighs 68 kg (Current TUM rounded figure for LOLA v1.1; the 2024 description gives 68.2 kg). [1]
Its stated maximum speed is 0.94 m/s; Converted from the reported maximum biped speed of 3.38 km/h for LOLA v1.1. [4]
TUM LOLA has 26 listed degrees of freedom; Current LOLA v1.1 configuration; earlier publications describe older 22- and 25-joint builds. [1][4]
TUM LOLA is made by Technical University of Munich, based in Germany. [1]
