Product overview
HRP-5P is a humanoid that AIST presented in September 2018 as a prototype for heavy labour and work in hazardous places. AIST says it is 182 cm tall, weighs 101 kg and has 37 degrees of freedom: 2 in the neck, 3 in the waist, 8 in each arm, 6 in each leg and 2 in each hand.
According to AIST, using both arms it can carry gypsum board of about 11 kg and plywood panels of about 13 kg, and each arm can bear 2.9 kg when extended horizontally. A head-mounted sensor measures the 3D environment. A convolutional neural network detects ten types of 2D object regions with at least 90% precision. AIST's material also shows autonomous gypsum board installation.
The robot builds on HRP series technologies and uses patented technology from Honda Motor Co., Ltd., according to AIST. No sales, price or customer deployment was found in the sources reviewed, so this page lists it as a prototype.
