Product overview
The Alpha 1S is a small consumer humanoid from UBTech Robotics. Contemporary 2015 coverage lists the original version at 398 mm and about 1.65 kg, with 16 degrees of freedom, phone control over Bluetooth and a 2200 mAh battery that provides about one hour of active operation. A later Alpha 1S V2.0 manufacturer manual lists 418 mm and 1.63 kg, showing that the hardware dimensions changed between revisions.
The robot was publicly exhibited and offered for sale in 2015. It is best known for a record in April 2016, when 540 units performed a synchronised dance routine that Guinness World Records recognised. The Alpha 1S was designed for programmed movement, dance and education rather than autonomous industrial or service work. Its hands are fixed shells, so they contribute no articulated hand degrees of freedom.
Reported prices varied sharply by country and date, including about 60,000 yen in Japan and about 5,500 Swedish kronor. Because those figures are not directly comparable and no authoritative global launch price was found, the structured price remains empty. The robot is treated as discontinued because it is historical and absent from UBTech's current range.
