KHR-1 (Wikipedia) âProduct overview
The KHR-1 is an early programmable biped kit from Kondo Kagaku, a Japanese company better known for radio-control equipment. Wikipedia dates its introduction to June 2004. ROBO-ONE's certified-robot record gives a standing height of 330 mm, a battery-included weight of 1,234 g and 17 servo-driven axes.
The original Kondo hardware manual specifies a 5N-600 NiCd battery. ROBO-ONE lists the electrical rating as five cells, 6 V and 600 mAh, equal to about 3.6 Wh, and identifies KRS-786 actuators rated at 8.7 kgf·cm. The manual says an empty pack can take up to 12 hours to charge with the included charger.
A contemporary ITmedia report listed the Japanese price at ¥126,000, while Wikipedia gives about US$1,600 in the United States and ¥128,000 in Japan. Because the KHR-1 is no longer in Kondo's current KHR product catalog, this entry is marked discontinued; no formal end-of-sale notice was found.
