Product overview
DexBot is the name used by English-language robot catalogues for a humanoid research program developed by BOSHIAC, the Shenzhen-listed Harbin industrial-automation company, with the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT). BOSHIAC's own December 2025 release does not give the prototypes a model name, so the DexBot label should be treated as unofficial.
The program produced two principle prototypes. The biped version has two 6-DoF legs and a 3-DoF waist for uneven terrain, while the wheeled version uses a differential base and 3-DoF torso for flat indoor work. Both have two 7-DoF arms, a 2-DoF head, full-joint force control and support either 20-DoF or 11-DoF dexterous hands. Secondary release coverage describes 15 and 7 active DoF for those hands and names HIT's Huozi-Rixin model as the intelligent core.
BOSHIAC said on 26 December 2025 that both prototypes had completed debugging and partial scenario tests. Its 2026 disclosures said technical work continued but the project did not yet satisfy the safety, reliability, economic and application requirements for industrialization. No price or order channel has been published, so the platform remains a prototype.
Capabilities
The biped version targets unstructured terrain such as factory inspection and disaster sites. The wheeled version targets service, handling and precision work on flat indoor floors. [1]
Both versions use two 7-DoF series-parallel hybrid arms with full-joint force control. The official release also lists a 2-DoF sensor head. [2]
The official release lists 20-DoF and 11-DoF hand options. Secondary coverage describes them as 15 and 7 active DoF, respectively. [1][2]
In December 2025 the company reported completed prototype debugging and partial scenario tests. Its 2026 disclosures said industrialization preconditions were not met. [2][3]
