About Changan Xiao An
Xiao An is a humanoid robot from Changan Automobile, the Chongqing carmaker. Changan showed it at the 23rd Guangzhou International Auto Show, which opened on 21 November 2025, and announced its robotics plans later that month. An official Changan investor-relations record specifies 169 cm, 69 kg, 40 degrees of freedom and a walking speed of 0.8 m/s.
Government and press descriptions say Xiao An uses one lidar and five cameras for environment perception, autonomous walking and obstacle avoidance. They associate it with Changan's in-house Tianshu large model for real-time conversation and motion imitation, although the official investor record reviewed does not itemize those systems. Changan states runtime above two hours and lists conversation, martial-arts moves and assistance tasks among the demonstrated functions.
The robotics business sits in a new subsidiary, Changan Tianshu Intelligent Robot (Chongqing) Co., Ltd., which was established on 1 April 2026 with registered capital of CNY 450 million. Changan Automobile holds 50 per cent of it. Changan's stated plan is humanoid mass production in 2028, with household service after 2030.
