Product overview
HIVA Haiwa is a household humanoid that Haier introduced on 26 July 2025. Launch coverage nicknamed it the 'housework terminator' and presents it as a home-service robot. Press reports give it a height of 165 cm, a weight of 70 kg and 44 degrees of freedom across the body, with a mobile base and dexterous hands. It can reach from the floor to about 2 m.
The tasks shown in launch material include floor washing, cooking, running a washing machine, ironing, and folding and storing laundry. Coverage quotes Haier as saying these services were completed by engineers through remote operation, and that the work also collects data for training the robot. ITHome describes the launch demonstration as a rendered animation and reports no real-robot test data. The robot is listed as a prototype.
Sources disagree on some details. A robot database lists 12 degrees of freedom for the hands but also describes five fingers per hand. Haier later identified HIVA Haiwa on its corporate site as its first humanoid home-service robot, but it published no technical specification sheet or order information. A 25 August 2026 Haier newsroom article uses the 海娃 name for household, cleaning and companion robots, so the name may cover more than one product. No battery, top speed, price or sales date was published in the sources reviewed, so those fields are left empty. The wheeled base comes from a robot database, while launch coverage says only that the robot has a mobile base.
