Product overview
Xiangjiang 1 (湘江1号) is a full-size bipedal humanoid developed by Hunan Chaoneng Robot Technology for healthcare and daily-living assistance. The company launched it in Changsha on 18 January 2025 and describes it as Hunan's first full-size bipedal humanoid. Its stated functions cover medical assistance, mobility support, physical help, meals, toileting, bathing and entertainment.
The robot combines Chaoneng's own AI and robot-control platform with a medical-health model developed through cooperation with Xiangya School of Medicine. Public demonstrations have included health consultation, massage, rehabilitation exercises, helping a person move, playing musical instruments and positioning a moxibustion tool over a body model. In February 2025 the company announced a local deployment of the DeepSeek large language model for expanded offline interaction and health-support scenarios.
At launch, Chaoneng said it planned to finalize the product and begin small-batch production within two years, followed by scaled customization and production within three years. A February 2025 Hunan government report still described the robot as being tested and targeting mass production in 2027. As of 8 October 2026, the official site presents Xiangjiang 1 as a product and accepts general business inquiries, but no model-specific price, order page or named customer deployment was found. It is therefore classified as a prototype. No official height, weight, degrees of freedom, payload, speed, battery capacity or runtime has been published.
