Product overview
Centaur is a wheel-legged robot from Run Robotics (润科具能), the Shanghai company Shanghai Runke Juneng Technology (上海润科具能科技有限公司). Runyang Technology (润阳科技) describes the company as its controlled subsidiary in a capital-increase notice, and IT之家 reports that Fourier (傅利叶) is also a shareholder. Run Robotics first showed Centaur publicly at a Shanghai technology-fair follow-up salon in July 2026 and subsequently exhibited it at WAIC 2026.
The robot pairs a four-wheel, wheel-leg lower body with a human-like upper body. Its arms retain motion for grasping, twisting and operating tools, and the platform can take dual arms, dexterous hands or multi-dimensional force sensors. Sensing combines lidar, binocular vision and depth cameras. The company says the whole system is designed to an explosion-proof rating.
Centaur targets hazardous work in nuclear facilities, mines, oilfields, steel plants and emergency response. The company cites a 100–120 kg moving payload and a 210 kg extreme static load. It planned small-scale production capacity and initial order deliveries for the fourth quarter of 2026, with more than 95% domestic content. No completed delivery was confirmed by 8 October, so status remains prototype. Height, weight, degrees of freedom, battery and price are not published.
Capabilities
The lower body is a four-wheel, all-terrain wheel-leg system, according to the Pudong government page and Global Times. [2][3]
The upper body has two arms that keep degrees of freedom for grasping, twisting and operating tools, per IT之家's report on the launch. [1]
The platform can take different upper-body modules, including dual arms, dexterous hands and multi-dimensional force sensors. [1][2]
Sources cite more than 95% domestic content and planned small-scale production capacity in Q4 2026. The company says the system is designed to explosion-proof ratings. [1][3][4]
