Product overview
Digit 5 is the fifth generation of Agility's bipedal humanoid, unveiled by Agility on 15 September 2026. Agility positions it for logistics and manufacturing work alongside people, with a design meant to reduce reliance on the protective barriers used around industrial robots. Its safety design uses proprietary human-detection AI, visual and audio cues, and an independent safety controller that can avoid, stop or lower the robot near a person.
Agility's launch release gives a height of 1.81 m, a weight of 129 kg, lifts of up to 50 lb (22.7 kg) and a 90-minute battery with a 9-minute charge. Agility's product page labels its figures as preliminary estimates and says some safety features are still in development. The robot is not yet orderable.
Agility's investor presentation of 6 October 2026 says Digit 5 remains under development, with a planned 2027 release. Early access is expected in the first half of 2027 and general availability by the end of that year. Agility also reports more than $300 million in multi-year Digit 5 orders, subject to contract milestones.

Capabilities
Agility says Digit 5 uses AI and several sensors to detect people, then avoids them, stops or sits down rather than relying on barriers. [1][5]
Agility lists a 90-minute runtime battery system and a 9-minute charge, a 10:1 run-to-charge ratio against 2:1 on Digit 4. [1][2]
Agility gives a repeatable lift of up to 50 lb (22.7 kg), about 40% more than Digit 4, and a reach of up to 7.2 ft (2.2 m). [1][2]
Grippers attach through ISO-standard mounting flanges, so the end effector can be changed on the robot. [1][2]
The Robot Report describes new legs that look much more like human legs, with Agility saying future configurations may differ. [5]
