Product overview
Cinnamon 1 is a bipedal humanoid from Donut Robotics, a Tokyo company that says it was founded in a Kitakyushu garage in 2014. Donut announced the robot on 21 January 2026 and calls it the first mass-produced bipedal humanoid from a Japanese brand. The products page lists it at about 170 cm and 70 kg; ITmedia reported 169 cm, four cameras, LiDAR and roughly three to four hours of continuous operation.
The headline feature is Silent Gesture Control, which lets an operator give instructions with hand and finger movements rather than speech. Donut initially presented construction sites and factories as target settings. In July 2026 the company and Charm Care began an experimental deployment at a fee-based eldercare home, where Cinnamon was being used mainly for conversation and communication.
The body originated from an overseas OEM, with Donut changing chips and moving assembly toward Japan, according to the company's August 2026 release. Donut says the robot uses a vision-language model, while the vision-language-action system needed for broader autonomous work remains unfinished. The company says a patrol function is complete. No public price or official order page was found, so Cinnamon 1 remains classified as a pilot rather than a commercial product.
