Product overview
The Honda P4 is a bipedal humanoid prototype from Honda Motor Co., Ltd. Honda developed it in 2000 and initially presented it as a 'P3-improved prototype'. Contemporary reporting says the P4 name was applied when the robot joined the Honda Collection Hall display on 20 March 2010, rather than in 2009 as previously stated.
Response.jp reported the P4 at 160 cm and 80 kg, with 34 degrees of freedom: two in the head, 14 across both arms, two per hand, two in the waist and 12 across both legs. A 2 km/h walking speed appears in the secondary P-series table but not in the contemporary museum report. Honda's current official history page does not list the P4.
Wikimedia Commons holds photographs of the P4 at the Honda Collection Hall in Motegi, Japan. The robot is a historical prototype and is no longer developed.
