Product overview
MATRIX-1 is a full-size bipedal humanoid from Matrix Robotics, a Shanghai company. China Electronics News reported that the company formally launched it on 26 December 2024, not at WAIC 2025. The robot later appeared at WAIC, where Shanghai government coverage described the proprietary Matrix Brain control system.
The current official product page lists a height of 180 cm and a weight of 67 kg. Each hand is a five-fingered dexterous hand with tactile sensors and 22 degrees of freedom. The page gives 10 kg of payload per arm and lists eight onboard RGB cameras, with optional LiDAR and ultrasonic sensors for obstacle detection. Launch coverage instead gave 65 kg, 77 total DoF and 35 kg combined dual-arm load; the current product page is used for the fields it updates, while 77 DoF remains the only published total count.
The current page gives a 5-hour runtime from a 2.28 kWh custom battery pack and a 45-minute fast charge. It lists 7.6 km/h, or about 2.11 m/s, but a table on the same page gives 1.2 m/s. Launch coverage gave 8 km/h, close to the higher current figure, and a maximum joint torque of 382 Nยทm. The product page also identifies an electric system, an onboard vision-language model and the MLM2.0 embodied manipulation model.
The official page still says MATRIX-1 is coming soon and gives no price or order route. However, in a May 2026 interview the company's CEO said several hundred first-generation units had shipped since the 2024 release. That later shipment disclosure supports commercial rather than prototype status, while the website wording remains an unresolved inconsistency.
