Product overview
The RB-Y2 is a mobile dual-arm robot from Rainbow Robotics, a Korean company. It succeeds the RB-Y1, which Rainbow positioned as a research platform. Rainbow publicly unveiled the RB-Y2 prototype at SIMTOS 2026, the Seoul International Manufacturing Technology Show, at KINTEX in Goyang on 13 April 2026. Rainbow's official social post and press photographs confirm the physical prototype.
Unlike the RB-Y1, the RB-Y2 is aimed at factory and industrial sites. Press reports say its sensors, cameras and grippers will be customized to each site, and that the design was developed for safety certification and regulatory requirements in manufacturing. Korean press reports give a payload of about 6โ7 kg per arm, up from 3โ4 kg on the predecessor. An earlier Edaily preview gives about 6 kg without saying whether that is per arm or total.
The robot is still in development. Press reporting in April said pilot production and pre-orders were planned for late 2026, with a full commercial launch planned for 2027. Rainbow's official product lineup page lists the RB-Y2 as 'Coming soon,' and its RB-Y2 product page publishes no specification sheet.
