Product overview
IRON is XPeng's humanoid robot, first presented at the company's AI Day on 5 November 2025 as its next-generation design. XPeng's September 2026 production-version release gives 76 degrees of freedom across the body and 21 per hand, down from the 82 total and 22 per hand cited for the November 2025 unveiling.
XPeng says IRON runs on three in-house Turing AI chips, delivering up to 2,250 TOPS of effective computing power, and can run its Physical AI models onboard without remote operation. The robot has a full-body tactile sensor array and tactile sensing in its hands. XPeng describes an enclosed, flexible lattice structure meant to balance appearance and safety. Height, weight, payload, battery and runtime figures have not been published in the sources reviewed.
On 8 September 2026 XPeng said the first production-line IRON had walked off its new Guangzhou line. The company plans mass production by the end of 2026, with market deliveries in 2027 and an early rollout in its own stores and on campuses. No customers, prices or order volumes have been announced, so the robot is classed as a prototype in this dataset.
